420 entrepreneurs selected from all regions of the country.

The program seeks to promote the development of projects with a positive impact on the community. The winners will receive between $1 and $2 million to carry out initiatives related to education, culture, environment, security and sports, among other areas.

More than thirty social organizations and neighbors of Calle Larga applied to the first version of the Colabora Program, an initiative promoted by the Territorial Linkage area of the Luksic Foundation, which seeks to support organizations and neighbors with projects that have a positive impact on the community. Applications were extended between May 5 and 31.

The program will provide funding of between $1 and $2 million pesos to execute projects that fall within one of these six lines of action: human and social capital; culture and education; public spaces and the environment; safety; healthy living and sports.

Workshops and internships

To attract and support organizations and neighbors in this process, the Foundation’s Territorial Liaison team organized four project formulation workshops and some twenty personalized assistantships for those who needed technical and methodological support to develop their ideas.

In the case of the workshops, representatives of 53 projects participated, while 20 were assisted.

Next steps

With the closing of the applications, all the projects submitted will go through a pre-selection stage, in which a committee will evaluate the admissibility and compliance with technical and financial requirements of the initiatives. Those selected will be contacted by the Foundation to begin a second phase, where the key will be the evaluation of the community itself.

The director of the Territorial Linkage area of the Luksic Foundation, Constanza Fernández, emphasized that “through this project we seek to strengthen the social capital of the commune and also the collaboration between neighbors. We believe that this first instance shows us that the community of Calle Larga is willing and able to identify their needs and propose solutions, so we are happy to be able to work together with them”.
