Sports clubs, neighborhood councils and parent-teacher associations of Calle Larga are among the organizations that advanced to the next stage of the program, in which the representatives of the initiatives themselves will carry out a community evaluation.

This Friday were announced the 18 projects that advance to the next stage of the Luksic Foundation’s Colabora program, an initiative created for organizations and neighbors of Calle Larga to work on the development and implementation of projects in the areas of human and social capital; culture and education; public spaces and environment; safety; healthy living and sports.

There were 18 initiatives – out of a total of 31 applications – that advanced in this first process of validation and evaluation of the documentation and problems presented by non-profit organizations or individuals. All of them will advance to the next stage of the program and will be eligible for funding of between $1 and $2 million to carry out their projects.

Among those selected are sports clubs of different disciplines, parents’ and guardians’ centers of educational establishments and neighborhood councils from various sectors of the commune.

Regarding the development of this stage of the program, Constanza Fernández, director of the Territorial Linkage area of the Luksic Foundation, said that “the evaluation process showed the capacity of the neighbors of Calle Larga to detect their needs and think of solutions. That is precisely what we seek through Colabora, to strengthen human capital and generate spaces for co-creation with the communities.

To advance to this stage, the applicants had to attend one of the four project formulation workshops conducted by the Foundation’s Territorial Liaison team. In this instance, the scope of the program, the required documentation and more details about the evaluation and selection process were explained.

In addition, for those who requested support in the formulation of the initiatives, more than twenty personalized assistantships were provided.

Next steps

After having been evaluated by a pre-selection committee composed of members of the Luksic Foundation and the Municipality of Calle Larga, the selected projects will advance to the “Community Evaluation” stage, in which the representatives of the initiatives themselves will assign a score to each one of them, according to their impact.

Subsequently, those selected must sign an Initiative Execution Agreement, which will establish the objectives and deadlines for the execution of each project, which cannot last beyond January 2023.
