The program by Fundación Luksic seeks to promote further education by providing students with useful and practical information about the admission process. After four weeks of registration, 588 schools from all regions of the country joined the initiative.

During 2024, more than 60,000 students from across Chile will be part of Fundación Luksic’s Aspirations About the Future program. The initiative aims to support technical and vocational high school seniors in making informed decisions about their future by providing timely information about the admission system, available higher education careers, and how to access various financing options, such as Free Tuition, scholarships, and loans.

In March, 588 technical professional schools from all regions of the country registered to be part of the initiative. This figure represents 63% of Chile’s technical professional schools and signifies a 20% increase in participation compared to the previous year.

“We know that information is a significant gap for some students, so we are pleased to be able to reach more institutions through Aspirations About the Future. The increase in participation and also the retention of the schools that participated in 2023 indicate that this is a project that makes sense to educational communities,” said Nancy Pizarro, Director of Education at Fundación Luksic.

The regions with the highest participation this year include the Metropolitan Region with 194 registered schools, followed by Valparaíso with 73, Araucanía with 61, Biobío with 58, Los Lagos with 47, and Maule with 46.

During April, a survey will be conducted in participating schools to better understand the interests and level of knowledge of fourth-year students regarding higher education.

Following the initial survey, each participating student will receive a personalized letter with details about their fields of interest, employability rate, average income, and actual duration of study programs, as well as practical information about the 2024 admission process.

Meanwhile, schools will receive a report with the results obtained by their students and recommendations to strengthen the continuity of studies in their educational communities.
