During the months of July and August, field agents present in all regions of Chile will distribute personalized information sets to classrooms to support informed decision-making regarding access to higher education.

With the participation of 487 technical-professional schools and 37,508 students from all regions of Chile, the survey stage of the Future Aspirations 2023 program has concluded. The program aims to gather information for each technical-professional fourth-year student regarding their motivations, expectations, and barriers to accessing higher education.

María Fernanda Orellana, Director of Education at Fundación Luksic, explains, “For the third consecutive year, we have developed this program, and we have seen a growing interest from teaching and administrative teams in enhancing the trajectories of technical-professional high school students. In Chile, higher education makes a difference because, on average, it significantly improves income levels and the quality of jobs they can access.”

Next Steps

Between July and August, all students who responded to the Future Aspirations survey will receive a personalized report with information about their interested careers, employability rates, incomes, and guidance on choosing higher education institutions and applying for student benefits such as free education, scholarships, or loans.

Additionally, each technical-professional school will receive a specific report with the results of their institution and guidance on enhancing the continuity of studies within their school communities.
