The Municipality of Viña del Mar received an Operations, Collection, and Assistance Center for residents affected by fires, a donation made by the Luksic Foundation.

This is a collection space of over 1,000 square meters and 30 service modules for residents, which will start operating as a base of operations from this Saturday and will be in operation for a minimum period of three months.

Regarding this, Cristina Birrell, representing the Luksic Foundation, stated, “The emergency is not over, and residents need everyone’s support. With this operations center, we hope that the Municipality can be closer to families, coordinate the delivery of information, provide social support, collect donations, among other activities.”

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Viña del Mar, Macarena Ripamonti, indicated, “This place was a strategic space for the municipality to speed up debris removal processes. Today it becomes the first base of operations and service center for residents. It will also be a point within the territory since the operational bases were outside the affected area. It will be right here, around the corner from residents’ homes, so that access to food and, above all, access to information is not a problem for them.”

The facility is the second-largest collection center in Viña del Mar and the closest to Ground Zero, located in El Tamarugal, a strategic place chosen by the municipality to provide assistance and support to residents.
