Under the motto ‘We believe in you,’ the Luksic Foundation launched the sixth edition of the Impulso Chileno contest, which provides training, mentoring, and funding—ranging from $3 to $5 million for each winner—to entrepreneurs to boost the development of their businesses.
For two weeks, from October 10 to 23, 2023, the call for applications was open, and more than 24,000 entrepreneurs completed their submissions. These submissions were thoroughly reviewed by the Simon de Cirene Corporation to select the 1,250 preselected candidates based on their entrepreneurial profile, business characteristics, and differentiated proposals, among other criteria.
Of this total, 50% are women, 73.5% come from regions outside the Metropolitan area, and their businesses mainly belong to the fields of food (26.1%), commerce (21.5%), and services (19.7%).
Evaluation and Winners
The preselected entrepreneurs have 7 days to submit the new requested documentation, such as the tax folder, a video explaining the business and its added value, among others. Their applications will be evaluated by the program’s Evaluation Committee, composed of the UC School of Management, Sercotec Business Center, and the Simon de Cirene Corporation.
“In this stage, various aspects of the applicant businesses are thoroughly evaluated, such as the differentiated proposal of the project,” explained Cristián Schalper, Director of the Entrepreneurship area at the Luksic Foundation. He also highlighted, “With this new version, more than 900 entrepreneurs will have participated in the program, receiving comprehensive support to boost the growth of their businesses.”
The 250 winners of the sixth edition of Impulso Chileno will be announced in January 2024 and will receive financial support, along with six months of training and mentoring provided by the UC School of Management and the Simon de Cirene Corporation.
