Seven years ago, Cristián Barahona started a journey to develop a product that would provide solutions to social, economic and environmentally problems. With that idea in mind, he created Raíz Nativo, “which aims to train people deprived of liberty, who, through the recycling of native woods, make gourmet and decorative products,” explains the entrepreneur from the O’Higgins Region.
The winner of Impulso Chileno in 2019 will be present along with nine other businesses supported by Fundación Luksic at the first entrepreneurship fair, held by the Foundation and Mallplaza, between Thursday, January 26 and Sunday, January 29 at Plaza Prosport of Mallplaza Vespucio. “We are very excited to participate and that customers know our products and that they can join a conscious, responsible purchase that generates social impact. We will be offering meat and snack boards, pots and salad bowls made by people deprived of their liberty, contributing to their labor and cultural reintegration”, says Cristián.
With the conviction that entrepreneurs are the engine of Chile, the Entrepreneurship area of the Luksic Foundation is committed to providing them with tools and concrete development opportunities so that they can develop their businesses. For its part, Mallplaza, through its program Plaza Emprende, seeks to promote the development and growth of entrepreneurship, giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to market their products, under different formats, in their urban centers.
Thus, seeking to empower entrepreneurs of the programs Impulso Inicial, Impulso Chileno and Despega Mujer of Fundación Luksic, the organization signed an agreement with Mallplaza to develop during 2023 fairs where entrepreneurs can offer their products in the various Mallplaza shopping centers nationwide.
“We are very pleased to be able to sign this collaboration alliance with Mallplaza to fulfill our joint objective and make the Foundation’s beneficiary entrepreneurs visible, boost their development and continue to promote the purchase of local products that come from all over the country,” said Cristián Schalper, director of the Entrepreneurship area of Fundación Luksic.
María Irene Soto, Corporate Affairs Manager of Mallplaza, said that as a company “more than a decade ago we set out to promote the development and growth of the communities we are part of through entrepreneurship. That commitment gave rise to what is now our Plaza Emprende program, through which we not only support the country’s entrepreneurs with spaces to market their products and training, but also create collaborative networks that seek to enhance the development of these businesses. For this reason, we are very pleased to establish this alliance with Fundación Luksic, which will allow us to work together for the benefit of the country’s entrepreneurs. We appreciate their trust in Mallplaza and Plaza Emprende”.
The first fair of this alliance will take place at Plaza Prosport of Mallplaza Vespucio (Avenida Vicuña Mackenna 7110) from Thursday, January 26 to Sunday, January 29 between 10:00 and 20:30 pm.
