Fundación Luksic made the donation to the Fire Department with the aim of addressing an immediate need at the station.

Following the recent fires, where over 1,900 volunteers fought the blaze for five days, the organization suffered significant losses in their personal protective equipment.

Last Thursday, at the General Quarters facilities, a small ceremony was held to confirm an important donation of high-complexity suits from Fundación Luksic.

“We have had a significant loss in our personal protective equipment, and today the Luksic Foundation confirms that they continue to support the Chilean Firefighters and will provide us with 310 multi-role kits,” said Hernán Pérez Parra, Superintendent of the Viña del Mar Fire Department.

“For us, it is a true pride to be here helping the firefighters of Chile once again. We are very grateful for the tremendous work they did to safeguard the lives of our compatriots,” said Cristina Birrell on behalf of the Luksic Foundation, this Thursday at the Viña del Mar Fire Department headquarters.

This donation comes after the forest fires that affected the V Region and particularly the city of Viña del Mar. On Tuesday the 6th, the Communications Center of the City Garden Fire Department reported that the emergency was over after five days of fighting the fire, with over 1,900 volunteers from 80 stations across different regions of Chile participating.

“During this emergency, we were once again inspired by the nobility and selfless actions of the members of the Chilean Firefighters, who gave their best to combat one of the largest fires we have witnessed. We want the Viña del Mar Fire Department, which was particularly affected, to continue its work with high-tech equipment,” commented Isabella Luksic, general manager of the Luksic Foundation.

It is worth noting that while the fires were brought under control, the emergency has so far left over 15,000 homes affected in the Valparaíso Region.
