  • 50 women entrepreneurs from the regions of Tarapacá and Ñuble received training and mentoring from experts in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, as well as financing of up to $2 million to invest in their businesses.
  • In its three editions, Despega Mujer has supported 120 women entrepreneurs from the regions of Antofagasta, Tarapacá, Coquimbo, Ñuble, Biobío, Los Lagos and the Metropolitan Region to strengthen their businesses.

“Progress, growth, confidence and a boost to move forward”. With these words, entrepreneurs from the third version of Despega Mujer described their passage through the program of the Entrepreneurship area of the Luksic Foundation, which aims to empower women entrepreneurs in Chile, supporting them through accompaniment, financing, mentoring, training and learning circles with a gender focus.

There were 25 entrepreneurs from the Tarapacá Region and 25 from the Ñuble Region who received this comprehensive support: more than five months of training and personalized mentoring by Corporación Simón de Cirene on topics such as marketing, sales, digitalization and social networks, as well as $2 million to invest in their business.

The closing ceremony was attended by representatives of the organizations that are part of this program: Alejandra Canessa, executive director of Corporación Simón de Cirene; Solsiré Giaverini, executive director of Corporación Construyendo Mis Sueños; Carol Uribe, head of the Chillán office of Fondo Esperanza; Héctor Feeley, general manager of Banigualdad, and Álvaro Ipinza, general manager of Fundación Luksic.

The representative of Fundación Luksic, Álvaro Ipinza, gave a few words to the entrepreneurs: “I invite you to feel once again proud of yourselves and of all your achievements. Throughout the program you have shown that you are strong and persevering women who have managed to take off with your businesses. You are the ones who make us reaffirm once again that women entrepreneurs are the engine of Chile, and have no doubt that we will continue to accompany you on this path”.

Comprehensive support

Despega Mujer was born in 2021 after the complex economic scenario generated by the pandemic for women in our country, with the conviction that women entrepreneurs are fundamental for the growth of the economy and with the purpose of providing them with more and better tools to strengthen their businesses.

Marta Bugueño, winner from the Tarapacá Region with her “Tiendita Chrome” clothing store, talks about the impact the program had on her personal life and her business. “Despega Mujer’ was not only a great contribution in monetary terms but also in technical terms: the trainings guided me and were an immense support for me and the store. This recognition has allowed me to move forward and digitize my business, selling in different channels, increasing my sales,” says Bugueño proudly.

From the Ñuble Region, the entrepreneur Maribel Olate also explains her experience and progress of her business Yassen Mascota y Ferretería: “To be recognized, to have the work and effort of a long time recognized is priceless. I am very grateful for this opportunity that has allowed me to grow, the tools I was given in the classes and my mentor have helped me to face new challenges. Thanks to the financing I was able to equip my business and it turned out wonderful”.

To date, through this program, Fundación Luksic has supported more than 120 women entrepreneurs in the regions of Antofagasta, Tarapacá, Coquimbo, Ñuble, Biobío, Los Lagos and Metropolitan, who have achieved growth in terms of increased sales, customers, advances in digitalization and technical knowledge for the management of their businesses.

The Foundation continues with its commitment to promote more women entrepreneurs throughout the country, so during 2023 it will carry out a fourth version of the Despega Mujer program. All the information about the call will be informed in a timely manner through the official website (www.fundacionluksic.cl) and its social networks.
