Parque Pirinel

Conservation

A unique space of biodiversity

Pirinel Park, located in the commune of Panguipulli in Chile’s Los Ríos Region, is home to a rich diversity of species and unique ecosystems. Among its main conservation priorities are the pudú, Darwin’s frog, the temperate rainforest, and the towering peaks that provide vital water to the region. This ecosystem is essential not only for its beauty but also for its crucial role in sustaining local water resources.

Named after the Pirinel Estuary—a watercourse that originates from the volcano and nourishes the land before flowing into the Enco River—the park is a nonprofit initiative dedicated to conservation. Its primary goal is to preserve these lands and make them available for scientific research, creating a space that not only protects biodiversity but also fosters knowledge and discovery.
