Luksic Foundation launches entrepreneurship program with Babson College in the US

Students’ interest in entrepreneurship has become a growing trend, driven by the need to combine employability and autonomy in their professional development. In response to this, the Luksic Foundation launched a new version of its “Entrepreneurship as Life Skills” program so that students can foster their entrepreneurial mindset with one of the world’s leading universities in this area.

More than 30 students from different careers of professional technical institutes of the Antofagasta Region such as Inacap, AIEP, Santo Tomás and Ceduc UCN, will participate in the program: “Entrepreneurship as Life Skills” taught by the Luksic Foundation in collaboration with Babson College, the leading university of entrepreneurship in the United States.

During the course, participants will learn to identify the keys to entrepreneurship as useful resources in their daily lives, providing them with leadership tools and distinguishing business opportunities in their environment. The students will work in different teams and at the end of the experience, to reward their outstanding participation, a winning group will be defined and will receive scholarships to attend an educational week at Babson College in the United States.

From the Luksic Foundation, the Director of International Training, Trinidad García, emphasizes that: “We are confident that investing in this type of program is essential to foster the entrepreneurial mindset of students, because it not only provides them with practical tools to innovate, but also encourages them to develop skills such as resilience and leadership. These competencies, which are increasingly valued in the working world, contribute directly and significantly to their professional growth, allowing them to face the challenges of the future with greater confidence”.

This is the second version of this program that was successfully implemented in 2024 in the Los Lagos Region, benefiting students with apprenticeships, four of whom obtained the scholarship and traveled to Boston for a week of entrepreneurial immersion in Babson College’s “Babson Build” program.

“We know that students are full of very innovative business ideas and with this alliance we want to provide them with useful tools that allow them to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset and essential adaptability skills according to their areas of interest and their context,” says Trinidad García from Fundación Luksic.

Valentina Rodríguez, a logistics engineering student at Inacap, says she is very happy with this training opportunity and hopes to be able to “take all these lessons and apply them in my daily life. It was a very good decision to apply for this program. Cindy Alfaro, who is studying electricity and industrial electronics at Santo Tomás, emphasizes that she applied because “I really liked the program’s curriculum, and it is also an opportunity to connect with other people, projects and ideas. We are going to learn, grow and be able to be an agent of change”.
