Global Pathways: Implementing quality
to make a difference
Global Pathways is a biennial conference designed to connect Chile with the world around key issues shaping the country’s development. It provides a space for academic discussion and the exchange of ideas, bringing together both national and international experts.
In 2024, the conference was held under the theme “Finding Common Ground” to foster dialogue on Chile’s development and convene members of the national and international academic community, civil society representatives, and public sector leaders.
The 2026 conference, “Delivering Quality to Make a Difference,” focused on the role of evidence-based implementation in achieving the goals of social initiatives. It emphasized that a program’s quality lies not only in its design, but, critically, in how it is carried out.
The discussion centered on education and child development, recognizing that, compared to sectors such as health, this area still faces significant gaps in the systematic use of evidence for both program design and implementation.

Laying the Groundwork for Global Pathways 2026
Through a range of initiatives, the Foundation seeks to share its knowledge and experience with other organizations in the design, evaluation, and implementation of social programs.
In the lead-up to the January 2026 Global Pathways conference, three preparatory activities were organized:
- A breakfast gathering with leaders from the education ecosystem to present the policy brief “Overcoming Information Gaps: User Experiences in Educational Initiatives in Chile,” featuring case studies from the Educational Networks for Learning Improvement and Aspirations for the Future programs.
- The launch of the Participatory Methodologies website, along with a workshop based on the same policy brief.
- A final session focused on the service experience, from program design through implementation.
As an organization, we have gone through many processes — some successful and others that have fallen short. We believe that the lessons learned from each of them can contribute to organizations implementing social programsMacarena Cea, General Manager, Fundación Luksic
