Global Pathways: Implementing quality
to make a difference
Global Pathways is a biannual conference that seeks to connect Chile with the world around key issues for the country’s development. It is a space for academic discussion and exchange of ideas, bringing together both international and national experts.
In 2024 it was held under the name of Searching for meeting points, with the aim of providing a space for dialogue on Chile’s development, bringing together members of the national and international academic community, representatives of civil society and public sector officials.
The conference “Quality Implementation to Make a Difference,” held in January 2026, addressed the role of evidence-based quality implementation in achieving the objectives of social initiatives and elaborated on the idea that the quality of a program lies not only in its design, but also – and crucially – in how it is implemented.
The focus was on educational programs and child development, since, unlike other social sectors such as health, this area presents significant gaps in the systematic use of evidence for both the design and implementation of social initiatives.

Paving Global Roads 2026
Through various initiatives, the Foundation seeks to share its knowledge and experience in the design, evaluation, and implementation of social programs with other organizations.
This year, leading up to the major Global Pathways conference in January 2026, three intermediate activities were planned: (1) a breakfast meeting with the education ecosystem to present the Policy Brief “Overcoming Information Asymmetries: User Experiences in Educational Initiatives in Chile,” which addresses the case studies of the Educational Networks for Learning Improvement and Aspirations for the Future programs; (2) the launch of the Participatory Methodologies website and a workshop based on the Policy Brief on the same topic; and (3) a final session on the service experience from design to implementation.
As an organization, we have had several processes, some successful and others that have failed, so we believe that the lessons learned from each of them can be a contribution to organizations that are implementing social programsMacarena Cea, general manager of the Luksic Foundation.
