Sciences Po visits Chile to bring postgraduate opportunities to students and professionals
The Luksic Foundation received a visit from Sciences Po, one of the leading French universities in the social sciences, with the aim of strengthening its relationship with the national academic ecosystem and publicizing the Luksic Scholarships for its master’s degree programs. The event provided an opportunity to connect with students and professionals interested in continuing their postgraduate education in an institution of international prestige.
Larissa Frozel Barros, International Affairs Manager for Latin America & the Caribbean at Sciences Po, made her first on-site visit to Chile, as part of the university’s interest in strengthening its presence in Latin America, where it recently opened a regional office in Brazil.
The visit was developed in coordination with the Luksic Foundation, and is aligned with its commitment to connect Chilean talent with global academic networks. Since 2019, more than 30 people in Chile have attended Sciences Po programs with the Luksic Scholars scholarship from Luksic Foundation, strengthening an alliance aimed at expanding access to academic opportunities of excellence.
“From the Luksic Foundation we seek to be a bridge between Chile and the world, providing development opportunities for professionals who seek to develop their skills and contribute to the progress of the country, so this visit reinforces our commitment to this purpose, and enhances the relationship we have with Sciences Po to continue opening the way and connecting Chilean talent with top universities,” said Trinidad Garcia, director of International Education at the Luksic Foundation.
Although this was the university’s first on-site visit to the country, Sciences Po has maintained historical links and agreements with seven Chilean universities since 2002, reflecting a long-term academic relationship.
Within this framework, the visit included a series of activities aimed at bringing the institution and its opportunities closer to different academic communities. In total, together with the Foundation, seven informative talks were given to more than 100 people. Six of them were held at universities in the Metropolitan Region: PUCV, Universidad Católica, Universidad de Chile, Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Universidad Diego Portales and Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez..
In addition, a talk open to the public was held at the offices of the Luksic Foundation, which brought together more than 30 people from Talca, Valparaíso and Santiago. The agenda also included two institutional meetings and a visit to the Valparaíso Region, strengthening the territorial scope of the initiative.
The Luksic Scholarship at Sciences Po offers four full scholarships per year for master’s programs at the Paris School of International Affairs and the School of Public Affairs. Details of the application process, which will be open until January 4. January 4can be reviewed on the Luksic Scholars.
