Entrepreneurs from the regions stand out: Luksic Foundation announces 250 winners of the sixth version of Impulso Chileno
With this edition, more than 900 microentrepreneurs from all over the country will have gone through the program, which provides financing of up to $5 million, training and mentoring. The 250 winners of this version represent all regions of the country and 75% are from regions other than the Metropolitan Region.
Supporting entrepreneurs contributes to the creation of new jobs, stimulates creativity, the implementation of new ideas and fosters economic diversification. These and many other reasons are what drive the Luksic Foundation to provide concrete and comprehensive opportunities for men and women throughout the country to boost the growth of their businesses.
This is how through the Impulso Chileno program, which since 2018 has carried out six versions, a total of 920 entrepreneurs have been supported. The 250 winners of the last edition were announced on Friday, January 12, each one will receive funding between $3 and $5 million, training with the UC School of Management and personalized mentoring by the Simon de Cyrene Corporation.
The director of the Entrepreneurship area of the Luksic Foundation, Cristián Schalper, congratulated the winners: “We received more than 24 thousand applications with very good projects from all over Chile. We are very happy and proud of this new generation of entrepreneurs and hope that this support will allow them to consolidate their businesses and improve their business practices, thus contributing to the development and growth of their communities”.
Entrepreneurs from all regions of the country
In this sixth edition, the winners represent all regions of the country from Arica to Magallanes. The regions with the highest number of winners are La Araucanía, Valparaíso and Bíobio. On the other hand, 123 of the winners were women, 127 were men, and the most prominent sectors were food (34%), services (20.8%) and commerce (16%).
In January, the participants of the sixth edition will start the program through a virtual welcome ceremony and will begin their academic accompaniment in March.
During 2023, the Luksic Foundation, in conjunction with the international research center JPAL Poverty Action Lab, conducted an impact evaluation of the program to verify whether the results obtained in previous versions are attributable to the program, such as the fact that the winners of the third version increased their sales by 83% on average. The results of the evaluation will be available during the first half of 2024.
All information about Impulso Chileno and other calls for entrepreneurship will be published on the Luksic Foundation’s social networks and on fundacionluksic.cl. You can check the list of winners here.
