More than 21,000 entrepreneurs from across Chile applied to the eighth edition of Impulso Chileno

Of all applicants, 63% are women and 69% are from regions other than the Metropolitan Region. The shortlisted candidates will be announced the week of September 23, and the 500 winners will be announced in November.

The application period for Impulso Chileno, a program of the Luksic Foundation that provides funding—ranging from $1,500,000 to $5,000,000—to each winner to boost the growth of their businesses, was open for two weeks.

“We are very pleased with the high level of participation in this eighth edition of Impulso Chileno, which once again demonstrates the enormous interest and potential that exists among our country’s small and medium-sized enterprises. As the Luksic Foundation, we reaffirm our commitment to continue supporting and empowering Chile’s entrepreneurs by providing them with tools that enable them to grow their businesses and, in doing so, contribute to the well-being and development of their families and communities,” explained Cristián Schalper, the Foundation’s Social Programs Manager.

In this eighth edition, more than 48,000 entrepreneurs began their applications on the website, and 21,973 were successfully submitted. Of the total number of applicants, 63% are women, and 69% reside in regions other than the Metropolitan Region. The regions with the highest number of applications were Valparaíso, Biobío, and Maule. In terms of business sectors, the most prominent were food (25%), services (21%), and retail (19%).

Next steps

In accordance with the program guidelines, the 2,500 shortlisted candidates will be announced the week of September 23. They will have seven calendar days to complete the second stage of the application process, during which they must submit their tax records and answer additional questions. If an applicant fails to submit the requested information by the established deadlines, the application will be considered withdrawn.

The Organizing Committee will then review the applications again, and during the weekly meeting on November 16, it will announce the 500 winners, who will receive funding to invest in fixed assets, tools for business digitization, promotional materials related to digital marketing and corporate branding (such as logo and brand design), and working capital.

The winners of this eighth edition of Impulso Chileno will be invited to a ceremony to kick off the program via videoconference; details will be announced once they have been finalized.

With this new group of winners, Impulso Chileno will have supported more than 1,920 entrepreneurs from across Chile. Applicants will be notified of all details and upcoming steps via the program’s official email address.
