With the participation of 100 women entrepreneurs, the sixth version of Despega Mujer comes to a close
- Women entrepreneurs from different regions of the country strengthened their businesses through financing, mentoring, training and support networks in the sixth version of the Despega Mujer program.
The sixth version of the program ended after six months of work. In this edition, 100 women from Atacama, Los Ríos and O’Higgins participated in mentoring and courses given by Corporación Simón de Cirene to strengthen the management and strategy of their businesses. In addition, the selected women attended six learning circles per region, led by the Corporación Construyendo Mis Sueños, face-to-face spaces designed to generate support networks among entrepreneurs.
Each of the women received a grant of two million pesos for the purchase of tools, infrastructure improvements, training or other relevant investments to help their businesses grow.
Macarena Cea, general manager of Fundación Luksic, emphasizes that “as women we tend to have less time available because we take on multiple tasks every day. That is why, through programs such as this one, we seek to provide tools to encourage women entrepreneurs who work tirelessly to develop their businesses and improve their quality of life and that of their families.
From Simón de Cirene, its general manager, Alejandra Iacobelli, highlights the impact of the joint work: “We confirm once again that when we all join forces, the results are extraordinary”.
Voices of the sixth edition
Roxana Guzmán (65), from the Atacama Region, started her venture “Sabores del km 7”, a homemade food restaurant, almost a year ago. The mother of five children, who have already left home, explains that she decided to bet on her own project that would allow her to generate income in the face of the lack of employment.
She points out that, thanks to Despega Mujer, she strengthened her digital skills and, with the support she received, was able to equip her kitchen with stainless steel furniture. About what she learned, she says: “They taught me to dream, to set goals with times and to do things now. Not to leave them written in a notebook. I leave with all the tools to achieve them.
Débora López (37), from the O’Higgins Region, started her professional cleaning business just over a year ago. She started, she recalls, to be able to spend more time with her son. Today she dreams that her company, Cleaners del Valle, will continue to grow and thus offer job opportunities to more women.
About her time at Despega Mujer, she highlights that she learned digital marketing tools and business planning. “It helped me meet wonderful people and realize that I can move forward despite the difficulties and grow my business,” she says.
