Operations, Collection and Care Center for those affected by fires in Zone Zero is delivered

The Municipality of Viña del Mar received a donation from the Luksic Foundation for an Operations, Collection and Care Center for neighbors affected by the fires.

The Municipality of Viña del Mar received a donation from the Luksic Foundation for an Operations, Collection and Care Center for neighbors affected by the fires.

This is a storage space of more than 1,000 square meters and 30 modules of attention for the neighbors, which will be functioning as a base of operations as of this Saturday, and will be in operation for a minimum period of three months.

In this regard, Cristina Birrell, representing the Luksic Foundation, said that “the emergency is not over and the neighbors need everyone’s support. With this operations center, we hope that the Municipality can be closer to the families, coordinate the delivery of information, provide social support, collect donations, among other activities”.

The mayor of Viña del Mar, Macarena Ripamonti, indicated that “this place was a strategic space for the municipality to accelerate the debris removal process. Today it has become the first base of operations and services to assist neighbors. It will also be a point within the territory, since the operational bases were outside the disaster area. It will be right here, just around the corner from the neighbors’ homes, so that it will not be a problem for them to have access to food and, above all, access to information”.

The center is the second largest collection center in Viña del Mar and the closest to Ground Zero. It is located in El Tamarugal, a strategic location chosen by the municipality to provide assistance and support to neighbors.
