Women entrepreneurs who are part of the Antofagasta Telethon are trained to grow their businesses and reduce the digital divide.

Women’s entrepreneurship is taking an increasingly prominent role in Chile and in response to this, the Luksic Foundation has promoted a series of trainings that seek to provide practical and accessible tools to women caregivers so that they can advance their businesses and generate support networks among themselves.

For two months, 27 female entrepreneurs and Teleton users from Antofagasta will be able to access an immersive online training workshop, which will help them to strengthen their digital skills, recognize their potential and acquire notions to grow their businesses. The initiative is promoted by the Luksic Foundation, seeking to enhance their capabilities and enable them to advance in their ventures.

“From the Luksic Foundation we have the mission to constantly seek and understand the current needs of the different actors of society to be a real contribution to improve their quality of life, in that line, in this opportunity we want to support the growth of these women, empowering them through training so they can enhance their businesses and have the tools to promote their ideas,” specific Cristián Schalper, Director of the Entrepreneurship area of the Luksic Foundation.

“This type of program is fundamental, not only because entrepreneurship is key to the development of our country, but also because it opens up new opportunities for personal and professional growth for the mothers and users of our Institute. Today, they felt listened to, valued, and were able to enjoy an exclusive space for themselves -something they often postpone because of the responsibilities of caring for their children,” says Sebastián Azares, director of the Instituto Teletón de Antofagasta.

The workshop, organized by Corporación Mis Sueños, has three modules that will be developed until the end of October with digital leveling courses that will train them in basic connection tools and will help them to enhance their personal skills and recognize the resources they have available to undertake being a caregiver. Finally, they will be taught basic concepts of value proposition, money organization and customer service. Understanding the needs and commitments of each of the beneficiaries, the modules will include practical activities and downloadable resources so that they can incorporate them into their daily routines.

At this face-to-face launch, the winners had the opportunity to share their experiences as caregivers and entrepreneurs, as well as a space for reflection on the main motivations of each one of them. “For us it is very important to carry out this type of event because it creates a learning circle among the participants, who can exchange experiences and that strengthens mutual support among women who have similar life stories,” says Cristián Schalper from the Luksic Foundation.

Javiera Artigas, one of the participants, expressed her motivation and gratitude for the new knowledge acquired: “We will continue to learn valuable things for our businesses. Besides the fact of sharing with other mothers, we realize that we can do much more if we are together”. For her part, Mariela Ledezma, says that “what I most appreciate about this session is that they gave me the confidence to say yes I can, and I know that with the support of the team, I will achieve it and accomplish my goals”.
