Letter to the Editor: “Trust to Empower”
In a letter to the editor published in the newspaper La Tercera, the Executive Director of Fundación Luksic, Macarena Cea, reflects on the reconstruction of the Punta de Parra School following this summer’s wildfires.
To the Editor:
This past Monday, 199 children from the Punta de Parra School were able to start their school year where they belong: in their classrooms. What may seem like a routine occurrence was, in truth, a feat.
In January, wildfires destroyed their school, but today the facility stands again in record time thanks to the work of Desafío Levantemos Chile and the collaboration between the public sector, private entities, and local residents.
By rebuilding this school, we have recovered more than just infrastructure; we have restored trust. We are showing these children—and their families—that there is a society that believes in them and is committed to their development, their dreams, their talents, and their future.
This milestone demonstrates that there are no goals beyond our reach when we work together. This is how we move Chile forward: with trust, effective management, and community.
